We’re back and even bigger than before. The 2024 WIN Network Current Cruiser features new events and after party with Melbourne band, Dynasty.
The WBSLSC WIN Network Current Cruiser is quickly becoming a New Year’s Day classic and this year it’s going to be even bigger.
We’ll announce start times a little later on when we’ve got a better idea of tide times but we’re aiming for around a midday start. Come down to the club in the morning to register early while we have plenty of shirts sizes available.
This year we’re swimming with the incoming tide so factor in the walk from the registration area to the start line, a great opportunity for a warm up!
Access to Shallow Inlet via Sandy Point Road. Parking is available on the beach or high tide car park. Once you’re checked in the walk up the beach to the start line is the same distance as your swim event (worth remembering!).
NOTE: the tide will be coming in so make sure your car is not at risk of getting wet
Driftwood Villas Family Float
Brand new for 2024 and perfect for those who want to be part of the Current Cruiser fun but don’t enjoy swimming. It’s an all ages* 500m gentle float along with the incoming tide. All inflatable boats, rings, lilos and sparkly inflatable unicorns are welcome. Dress-ups encouraged but not enforced!
Note: Family Float tickets do not include a Current Cruiser T-Shirt. T-shirts can be purchased after the event at the Surf Club.
* children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult
100% of all funds raised are for the Waratah Beach SLSC to keep facilities and safety and rescue equipment maintained and volunteers trained.
