Hi everyone.
As you may be aware we had an issue with time reporting yesterday. I am incredibly apologetic and very embarrassed, it appears that yesterday’s hot weather exceeded the operating conditions for the timing device and a number of ending times were slow to log. We had contingencies for sharks, bushfires, wind, fog, lightning but not the recording device which had been thoroughly tested prior.
The impacted times are those recorded after (and including) 2:24 PM. Other times are less likely to be impacted.
We will list unofficial times from yesterday’s results on the event website later today, if your time is intuitively wrong then unfortunately it will have been impacted. If you recorded your time and want me to update records, please let us know and we will amend.
Again, I am profusely apologetic and if you enjoyed the swim and are willing to be patient with us and forgive this critical error, we would love to see you next year when we will take new measures to avoid timing errors.
